
The Chimbulak ski resort is located in the picturesque gorge of the Zailiysky Alatau at an altitude of 2260 meters above sea level, and 25 kilometers away from Almaty city. It is famous for its mild climate with lots of sunny days. Stable snow covers from November to May and magnificent views of the surrounding mountain peaks and ridges.
The average air temperature is + 20°C in summer, -7°C in winter. The average thickness of the snow cover is up to 150 cm, and the number of sunny days per year – up to 90%. Time of occurrence of snow cover is November to May. Mountain-skiing routes are served by two pair-chairlifts, one-chair and rope ski lift and a free towing lift. Lifts will elevate you from a height of 2260 m above sea level to the Talgar maountain Pass (3163 m), with height difference of 903 m. The trails are prepared by three snow-sealing machines (Ratrak).
The lifts start up at an altitude of 3,163 meters above sea level. You can see majestic mountains with snowy slopes and evergreen Tien Shan fir on the right and on the left. The visiting card of Chimbulak is a variety of routes including low gradient and gentle slopes for beginners, long trails for trained skiers, and FIS trails for speedy descent, as well as wild valleys with pristine snow and half-pipe for snowboarders, extreme turns for the profs, a special route for mogul. The new routes appear on Chimbulak every year. The ski runs of Chimbulak are certified by the International Federation of Alpine Skiing (FIS). Downhill slalom and giant-slalom routes are rightfully included in the top ten of the most complicated routes in the world.

Cable-chairlifts operate from 10 to 17 hours daily.
In the summer – Tuesday is a preventive day from May to October.
