6-Day Kyrgyzstan Jeep Tour from Almaty — Itinerary
DAY 1
Almaty → Bishkek → Song-Kul Lake
Your Kyrgyzstan adventure begins in Almaty. We leave early in the morning and head towards the Kazakhstan–Kyrgyzstan border before continuing to Bishkek.
After crossing the border, we continue through the mountains towards Kochkor. Here, we stop for lunch and visit a traditional felt-making workshop, where you can discover one of Kyrgyzstan's oldest crafts.
From Kochkor, the road climbs higher into the Tien Shan. Our final destination for the day is Song-Kul Lake, a spectacular alpine lake located at an altitude of around 3,016 meters.
As the evening arrives, settle into a traditional yurt, enjoy a local dinner and experience the incredible silence of the high mountains.
Day 2
Song-Kul → Bokonbaevo → Aksai Canyon
Wake up surrounded by the vast landscapes of Song-Kul. Take your time to enjoy the lake, meet local shepherds and experience the traditional nomadic way of life.
After breakfast, we descend from the high plateau and continue towards Bokonbaevo, located on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake.
From here, we head into the spectacular Aksai Canyon, where dramatic red-rock formations rise from the surrounding landscape.
The day ends with one of the most authentic experiences of the journey — a traditional eagle hunting demonstration with a local Berkutchi.
Tonight, we stay in a yurt camp surrounded by the mountains.
Day 3
Aksai Canyon → Skazka Canyon → Barskoon → Jeti-Oguz → Karakol
Start the morning with a panoramic walk and one last look at the dramatic landscapes around Aksai Canyon.
Then continue along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake towards Skazka Canyon, also known as the Fairy Tale Canyon. Wind and erosion have shaped the red and orange rocks into fantastic formations that look completely different from every viewpoint.
Next, discover the impressive Barskoon Waterfalls, hidden in a green alpine valley.
Continue to Jeti-Oguz Gorge, famous for its enormous red rock formation known as the Seven Bulls and its beautiful Valley of Flowers.
By evening, arrive in Karakol, one of the most interesting cultural cities in eastern Kyrgyzstan.
Day 4
Karakol → Altyn Arashan Hot Springs → Karakol
Today we leave the main roads behind and head deeper into the mountains.
Explore Karakol Gorge, surrounded by pine forests and snow-capped peaks, before continuing towards Altyn Arashan — one of the most beautiful mountain valleys in the region.
The reward is time to relax in natural mineral hot springs, surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Tien Shan.
After lunch and some time to enjoy the mountain atmosphere, return to Karakol for the evening.
Day 5
Karakol → Chong-Kemin Valley

Green meadows, mountain peaks and traditional villages create a completely different atmosphere from the high-altitude landscapes of Song-Kul.
Spend the evening in a local guesthouse and enjoy the final night of your Kyrgyzstan adventure.
